About Enrique Zaldivar
Enrique Zaldivar is a Cuban painter and draftsman. Graduate from the Professional Academy of Fine Arts El Alba in Holguin, Cuba. Currently lives in New Jersey, United States. To date he has done several solo and group shows. His works appear in several private collections, institutions and corporations throughout the United States and also transcended the borders to countries like Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Peru, Italy, France and Spain.
Enrique's art is characterized by a uniquely inquisitive look at the world that surrounds him, as well as a drive to recreate and show its wide range of situations. Acrylic, watercolor, drawing, collage, art print and photography are the mediums Enrique embrace without preference. His works exhibit intense color with a conscious use of complementary colors to create harmony and balance. The vibrant colors with a few mixtures become a way to illuminate the canvas.
Enrique has also published several books. Infinite Line and Pen and Ink Sketch Collection, are two of his most recent publications. In them, there is a greater presence of drawings, in which we can appreciate the influences of comic and illustration art, but at the same time without losing sight of the artistic visuality that keeps him in the field of fine arts. He shows a great mastery of the line and the principles of graphic art. Many of his works are not only focused on the visual aspect, but also contain suggestive messages that encourage dialogue and reflection.
